The SimLine 4-channel DisplayPort KVM switch is designed for switching between primary and backup automation systems in ATC environments. Built on an FPGA hardware architecture, it supports ultra-high-definition video output up to 4K@60Hz and fully complies with the 2048×2048 resolution standard commonly used in ATC displays.

The switch supports simultaneous switching of 4-channel DP, USB, audio, and serial signals with a single press, with no black screen, flicker, or frame freeze, ensuring continuous and stable visuals for controllers.
In ATC operations, primary and backup automation systems consist of two independent radar and flight plan processing systems—one active and one standby—to eliminate single points of failure and maintain uninterrupted service. The KVM switch connects to both systems, allowing synchronized, seamless switching of video, audio, USB, and other signals, so controllers can view and switch between systems on a single display effectively.

The switch is compatible with touchscreens for smooth operation of electronic flight strips. Customizable hotkeys accommodate individual user preferences. For EDID handling, it supports direct passthrough as well as reading, storing, and emulating EDID, preventing resolution errors due to display identification issues.

Redundant power supplies and front-panel status LEDs provide clear operational feedback. The monitoring software platform delivers comprehensive status visibility and automatic fault alerts, supporting 24/7 reliable operation.

In practical use, the SimLine ATC KVM switch can be deployed in multiple configurations. In addition to the traditional primary/backup dual-system setup, the four channels can accommodate emergency automation systems or serve transitional environments during system upgrades. The switch also supports four-window mode and dual-screen switching for added flexibility.

Combining switching with signal extension is a common requirement in ATC. The switch supports both extend-then-switch and switch-then-extend modes, integrating multi-device KVM switching and long-distance signal extension through its KVM I/O endpoints.

All these deployment modes can be integrated with the monitoring software, enabling real-time status visibility for all connected KVM devices and simplifying management.
